Aden & Anais was created by a vision from a mother who wanted to keep the long standing traditions of her family and home land of Australia. Her line of Muslin fabric children’s wear and accessories now stretches worldwide. Already having over 1300 boutiques as clients, Aden & Anais wanted to expand their footprint, and cover the major retail market place.
This growing company, producing women's knitwear, initially decided to handle all business operations in house, including their EDI processing. They were in a strong growth phase, experiencing major success with their product line, and needed more tools to support their operation. As part of their expansion, they invested over $75,000 to set up an ERP system from a well known software company, and used a consulting team to configure the software, and implement EDI for Wal-Mart and their other trading partners.
As they underwent rapid growth, a lingerie manufacturer was struggling to process their EDI orders using a traditional EDI service bureau. Purchase Orders had to be manually entered into their ERP system and, adding to confusion, when picking & shipping, many orders didn't even display the style, color, or size information.
An outerwear importer was struggling to process their EDI orders through a 3rd party EDI service provider. This particular service didn't print labels for the client as an option; putting all the pressure on the company's office staff. The labels had to be made overseas at the factory level and the standard format to produce them was very labor intensive and at times the actual label data was incorrect. This caused all types of stress and delays.
